Aviation Support Services in the defence industry refer to the coordinated ground, logistics, passenger, crew and cargo support required to move military aircraft, personnel and equipment safely and efficiently during exercises, deployments and active operations.

SCA Group’s Aviation Logistics Support capability covers Ground Handling Services, passenger and crew assistance, cargo handling and aircraft movement coordination for aviation operations worldwide. This support helps move troops, equipment and materials to and from operational theatres, exercises and mission locations with controlled planning and execution.

This capability also supports SCA Group’s wider Military Husbanding Services, where aviation, maritime and operational logistics requirements may need to be coordinated as part of a wider mission support framework.

SCA Group supports military aviation operations through controlled Aviation Support Services designed to meet operational, safety and compliance requirements in complex environments. This includes military equipment and cargo coordination, customs clearance support, and the transportation of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in line with applicable IATA and ICAO requirements.

Our teams support a range of military aircraft, including transport aircraft, fighter aircraft and helicopters, across scheduled, short-notice and hard-to-reach operating locations. SCA Group is AIR Card® registered, enabling direct support for U.S. military aviation operations through the official procurement platform. This registration supports the provision of Aviation Fuel and Ground Handling Services with transactional traceability, streamlined invoicing and alignment with DLA Energy requirements. It also supports integration with U.S. Government logistics systems for aviation operations in peacetime and contingency environments.

We offer Airport Services at several airports (including ground handling, passenger services, and access protocol services), Ground Movement Services (including MHE rental, truck and highway tractor rental, and wash services), and In-Flight Meals (for the Commander and the rest of the crew) at various locations worldwide.

SCA has been instrumental in supporting Indian Air Force missions in Europe through a series of operations on a spot deployment basis since 2010. These are usually spot operations, often carried out at short notice, and require the SCA team to demonstrate exceptional readiness and efficiency.

Overall, Flight Line Services to be provided to NATO Air Forces worldwide include aircraft marshalling, towing and pushback, ramp parking and securing (including chocks and electrical grounding), GPU operation, cargo loading and unloading, passenger and crew handling, as well as the provision of supplementary Ground Support Equipment (GSE) as needed.
